Sunday, Church and Mormons

As I have some time to kill before I have to get ready for church I thought that a little "Mormonism for Dummies" might be in order. I have to say that I am referring to the series of books. You know, like "Computers for Dummies," or "Blogging for Dummies" and so on. But I do think that we, Mormons seem to have our share of foolish people, at times I think we might have more than our share, lol.

After talking to some of my non-mormon friends I remembered there are a few things, ok maybe a lot of things that Mormons do differently. when we go to church we have a 3 hours of it. There are three different meetings. There is Sacrament Meeting, that is the main meeting and we take the Sacrament, or what most non-M's would call Communion. Then there is Sunday School. And last for me, adult male, there is Priesthood. The adult women have Relief Society, the children have Primary, and 12 to 18, ether have Young Women or Aaronic Priesthood. So it is a 3 hour block, each meeting being about a hour long. A good friend said the Mass was about 45 minute they were done. I don't think Mormons know what 45 minutes is, unless we're late. When I was a kid it was done differently. But that another several paragraphs for another time.

Where to go from here? I just Googled, "Mormonism for Dummies." There is one, wow. I was just kind of kidding. But maybe I should look at it. ;-)

Since this blog is my journal I want to do a Sunday segment. Light on doctrine, good on info, and maybe a lot on humor. Ok maybe I am not the funniest but there should be a laugh or two. Maybe the funny part is human nature.
