I took this picture in May of 1981 while I was serving a mission. It was taken at the Wind Rivers in Wyoming. I hope this brights your day JJ.

Wow thanks, It been a long time since I seen a red rainbow. You know what causes them don't you? It is caused from the dust that the rain and wind kicks up. But it is only from red volcano dust that they are made. It has to be really dry and have about 1 inch of powder dust before it will work, but thats what makes it red like that. We get them here where I live to, but it is easier from the mountains because the wind blows the dust into the rain and makes them. I have only seen red rainbows where there is volcano dirt. Thanks Sterling, hugs JJ
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing that with all of us, it really is a beautiful photo. I may print it and frame it. I've never seen a rainbow like that. I'm glad JJ gave an explanation of how it happens.
