Work Day 6 - RG Project

We loaded all of the sheet metal scrap into the truck. I found a piece stamped with 1915. So I would guess that was about the time of construction. I was going to take a picture but the batteries died. Just one picture, but noway.

So we started off. I decided to stay off the main highway, Route 30, and take Hazel road, a blacktop. Well a few miles down the road and a piece of U shaped pipe came off and hit the rear tire. I stop to get it and then I hear it. SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS I had a flat. I guess that I had a hole in it from the pipe. Well we get it changed and come to find out the it hit the value stem, no hole and I can get it fix for free, road hazard. :-)

The load came to 360lbs, $36.90. Not bad and everything worked out.

We got back before 11am and got to work. Got all of the window trim except for one, stuff stack there. Took the rest of the baseboard off the east and part of the south walls. Then removed the last of the plaster from both walls. It was 12:30pm and I was out of time. So after getting charged batteries, too a few pic's.

Thursday's I have the Lee County Genealogy Society. Today I needed to be there at 3pm & had some running around to do before hand. I finally had lunch, a sub sandwich at 4:30pm. I was so tired that by 6:30 I was headed home. I guess my day was catching up with me. BTW I'm down 5lbs. more to 250. Oh one more thing. Jim has a dog.

  1. Sterling busy busy - if you keep getting money for your scrap it may help you get a wood burner.
Love Jim's dog - looks a bit like the mother of my dog - dose he/she have a name.

  2. Yes Stef, the dog does, but I can't for the life of me remember it. I will have to ask Jim next time I see him.

I love being busy. Because of my health I have been in soooo long. But now with some meds it is changing. I hope it lasts for more that the summer.

The scrap money goes to Jim. This is the deal I made. That he gets the scrap, about 150 of the block. The roof, aluminum, goes for the scaffolding that we need to rent. And I get the rest of the block, about 500, over 550 sq ft of Douglas Fir flooring, I think there is more fir used on the roof. The most of the stud & beam lumber. But I am flexible. He works as hard or harder than I do and is great to work with. I want this to be a win win. I have some 30+ inch mahogany 2x4's from pallets, that I will give him also. I have more mahogany pallet wood that I know what to do with.

And if my health hold up we are going to look for a barn or like and turn so coin.
