Bonfire

I have been trying to get this clip uploaded since about the 2nd of June. Thanks Brian for the help.

Now I live here in Illinois and it has been raining several times a week. We cut the brush about 2 or 3 weeks before and I don't have to worry about starting the whole town on fire. I do have to be concerned that I don't melt the neighbors siding off their house though. I do have a hose there and I do wet the fire down when it gets going more that I like.

It took about 20 to 30 minutes to burn but I shorten it a bit. I know it is kind of fun watching a fire but not for 30 minutes. I guess there is a little pierow in all of us.

BTW take this stuff to the land fill is not even a consideration.

  1. I have to do that at my place here about once a year. It terrifies me every time I do it. I think it is because when I was about 8 years old I set the woods behind my house on fire. The fire department had to come and put it out. I don't remember all the details about my punishment, but I know I was talked to sternly by the fire chief. Funny though, I remember in exquisite detail playing with the found matches on the way walking home from school through those woods and how the fire got started, and my failed efforts to put it out.

  2. Sterling there have been a few cold mornings here lately that I would have been greatful to stand infront of a fire like that for 30 minutes. But I will say I'm glad the vid you posted didn't last that long.
Brian I suppose there would be a few of us here that got into trouble for playing with matches but I wasn't quite as naughty as you.I imagine that would have given you one hell of a fright.
    Take care Stef

  3. Sorry Sterling, it been a while since I made a post. Things got kind of busy at school and I have been busy at home to some. I have read all the posts that I was behind on and I really like to watch the building come down that you been working on. I bet it is hard work to get those bricks out of the walls. But your getting it all done. What do you do with the basement when all the rest is gone? Do you just fill it with dirt? Or do you got to take those walls down to then fill it with dirt? I will keep watching and then I will see. Have you started on the green house yet? I am sorry about the accident with he air conditioner. Good thing no one was below it. Ok got to go. Hugs JJ
